The Tandjung Sari Foundation is an initiative that was established by the Wawo-Runtu family to foster and preserve the evolution of Balinese artistic works of outstanding quality and interest. The foundation has assumed the role of the ‘banjar’ or community centre where the traditional heritage of the Balinese is passed on to each new generation.
The foundation had helped revive a local group of traditional musicians by providing a rare set of instruments as well as training children in classical dance. The Tandjung Sari Foundation sponsors and hosts regular performances by students for audiences to appreciate a variety of works that is in danger of being lost in this modern era. previous page
